Single Family Builder Program

The San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) Master Builder Program is back and contracted through TRC Engineering!  There are only three more spots left open to builders.  The program gives $20,000 to $40,000 of financial support to builders that are willing to recognize and support early adoption of two key 2016 Title 24 measures: high performance attics, and high performance walls. The program also offers on‐site training for your design team and subcontractors, and installation guidance from product manufacturers.

In order to qualify, you must:

  • Complete 10 new single‐family project lots (homes) with either one or both measures
  • Host a design workshop and value engineering meeting with the project team and program staff
  • Agree to feature and promote the project through case studies, industry events, and publication

For More Information, Contact David Peery with TRC at (916) 844‐0171, dpeery@trcsolutions.com or reach out to DuctTesters and we will connect you.

*The Master Builder Program is funded by California utility customers and administered by San Diego Gas & Electric Company (SDG&E®) under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission, through a contract awarded to TRC Engineering. Federal Energy Tax Credits ARE BACK!!!!

45L Federal Energy Tax Credit Information

Today, February 9, 2018, Congress passed the “Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018” This budget act includes Section 45L Credit for Energy-Efficient New Homes. New Homes sold or leased can qualify for $2,000 per home of tax credit.  The construction of the new homes must meet or exceed the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code plus supplements. Many California builders qualify because the California’s Energy Code Compliance exceeds the IECC’s 2006 Code. Many of our NV clients also qualify. We can collect retroactive up to three years back (2014 – 2017).  In order to qualify, a builder needs to have a tax basis in the home to claim the credit.

For no charge, we can review your projects from 2014 – 2017 finished (sold or leased units) to let you know if you qualify. One unit in a project may qualify and/or all the units. Should a unit or units qualify for the Federal Energy Tax Credit (FETC), we will then send you a proposal to process the FETC and send you a certificate number.

If you are not one of our current Title 24 clients, we can definitely still help you. We will need the following:

  • Architectural plans
  • Addresses
  • You will need to have the Title 24 Company you used for your project share the files with us in the HERS Provider Database
  • You will need to have the Title 24 Company send us the .BLD or .XML files

Please contact our office at our toll free number 866-950-1191. View or download the pdf with DuctTesters 45L FAQ
