Federal Energy Tax Credits ARE BACK!!!!

45L Federal Energy Tax Credit Information

Today, February 9, 2018, Congress passed the “Bipartisan Budget Act of 2018” This budget act includes Section 45L Credit for Energy-Efficient New Homes. New Homes sold or leased can qualify for $2,000 per home of tax credit.  The construction of the new homes must meet or exceed the 2006 International Energy Conservation Code plus supplements. Many California builders qualify because the California’s Energy Code Compliance exceeds the IECC’s 2006 Code. Many of our NV clients also qualify. We can collect retroactive up to three years back (2014 – 2017).  In order to qualify, a builder needs to have a tax basis in the home to claim the credit.

For no charge, we can review your projects from 2014 – 2017 finished (sold or leased units) to let you know if you qualify. One unit in a project may qualify and/or all the units. Should a unit or units qualify for the Federal Energy Tax Credit (FETC), we will then send you a proposal to process the FETC and send you a certificate number.

If you are not one of our current Title 24 clients, we can definitely still help you. We will need the following:

  • Architectural plans
  • Addresses
  • You will need to have the Title 24 Company you used for your project share the files with us in the HERS Provider Database
  • You will need to have the Title 24 Company send us the .BLD or .XML files

HOME ENERGY ANALYSIS

A home energy audit is the first step in making your home more efficient. An audit can help you assess how much energy your home uses and evaluate what measures you can take to improve efficiency. A visit from one of our Certified Existing Home Raters will allow you to find out how your home is currently performing. During the visit we collect information about your homes construction and use specialized equipment to analyze the performance of the HVAC and the house as a whole. An infrared camera is used to reveal hard to detect air infiltration, missing insulation, and is a valuable tool for finding the cause of your homes discomfort. Then our certified energy analyst will use a state certified program to analyze the performance of your home and show you how the proposed upgrades will affect your homes overall efficiency, reduce your utility bills, and improve your indoor comfort.
