Magnolia Terrace Awarded 2011 Green Builder Best Urban Renewal

Magnolia Terrace

A client of ours, Housing Consortium of the East Bay (HCEB), has been awarded the 2011 Green Builder Best Urban Renewal award. The Magnolia Terrace project was certified by DuctTesters with Build It Green through the GreenPoint Rated Existing Homes Multifamily program. It was truly a beautiful project for a good cause. HCEB develops these housing projects specifically for people with disabilities and we are proud to work with them.

Adam’s Room

For that last few months the team here at DuctTesters has been working on a project we all referred to as “Adams Room”. It was work brought to us from a generous client of ours looking to give back to the community. Adam Carbajal was a victim of severe shaken baby syndrome and is now being taken care of by his grandmother Maria. With Adam being handicap, things can get difficult around the house. The “Adams Room” project was a room addition to their home, just for Adam, where he could get around a little easier. We are always pleased to accept work like this when it presents it’s self and so grateful that our clients include us, but little did we know the touching story behind this project.

The Fresno Bee has a great write up of the story here. Link

Well today the family of Adam Carbajal, including his grandmother Maria, stopped by for a visit. We got to hear their story first hand as they graciously thanked us for the work we did on there behalf. Their story has touched each or our hearts and has a happier ending then you would ever expect. Link
